Ila's first 4th of July

Happy 4th of July weekend

we've been beaching and lounging and constantly layering on the spf.

Beach naps are pretty much the best thing ever.
Something about kids screaming, waves crashing, hot sun beaming....puts us both right into a little nap coma.

Also, Independence Day sales...
I bought two dresses from asos (here and here) in hopes of one working as a bridesmaid dress for my dear friends wedding in August.

and it's only Saturday night... Cheers to three day weekends!

on being a Mom

Not only becoming a new mother but uprooting our lives to move across the country has been a lot.

More than I could handle and a lot of things took a back burner so that I could have every moment possible with our new little family.

Inevitably with becoming a working mother, a creative mother, an anything mother, ...
there is mom guilt and this quote rang true when I read it the other day over on The Ma Books blog.

Along these same lines is this post, which really just says it all. About the laundry, the play time, the guilt.


Finally after 3 months I feel like we are getting into a routine now that we are back here in Southern California.
And I am happy to be finding time to come back to this space.

I've missed this little creative outlet space of mine so I will be posting back over here.

We moved to LA.
Little Ila Rose is now 9 months old.
I am working a lot and just trying to figure out this new mom, working mom, keep life in order mom lifestyle.
