New York City

allow me to get cheese ball for a moment please....

For some reason I have been having a lot of dreams this week
about my old apartment in nyc...

2 years ago I moved to Southern Cali. from ny,
where I lived alone in my little one bedroom
on a hill in Astoria...
down the street was the best pastry shop
(I know, EVERYONE says that, but La Guli really was)
and my veggie stand was the best....

my kitchen, well my kitchen was as tiny as all get out,
but I cooked meals for hungry grad students...
so it worked...
and my back yard....
oh my lovely lovely back yard..

but when I wake up from my dream,
there is always a sigh of relief....
cause I wake up next to him...

NYC Apartment- things I WILL miss

MY PIANO!! :( boo hoo

Best cappuccino in the whole word, a few doors down. Made by this cute old Italian woman, who's apartment is behind the store front. best espresso I have ever, ever tasted.

my backyard...

in winter...

and in the summer, even better..

Plus fire escapes on all sides, as far as the eye can see...

the experience of living alone...
with lots and lots of me time.

(i should also add to that, buying flowers for myself every month, chocked it up as part of my utility bills)--not sure if I will miss that, but now its Nate's job, yea!

Alas, it will be sad to go....
but not really.
CA HERE I COME!! WOO WOO!!
nathan nathan nathan !

nyc apartment- things i will not miss

its so cute and little.
i really grew attached.
but alas, the things i will not miss about my nyc apartment...

1. the back wall that leaks water when it rains (it has been "repaired" 4 times by the contractor)
[i think it might actually be fixed this time! we'll see]

2.the biggest cockroaches ever to live in nyc (although on hold for the minute with my extremely toxic fumigation that took place 2 months ago [i can still smell the fumes a bit when i come home] I have no doubt they will be back as soon as said fumes wear off, or I move out because said fumes are probably affixed to my personal belongings more than the walls and floor, ew)
btw, i was crossing 16th st and a cockroach was running by! i swear. it was huge.
I almost stepped on it, but good thing I saw it! Its like trying to step on a small mouse. but i just let that one run on by!!!!

3. bathroom sink the size of a popcorn bowl...

my drawing...

actual reproduction...

Ceci n'est pas un lavabo

4. windows being at ground level

5. Zero counter space...

[soon to come...things i WILL miss]
